Privacy first. DueScan is designed to process and manage documents primarily on your device. Your scanned documents are not sold to third parties.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how DueScan handles information when you use the application.

DueScan is a document scanning and document management application that allows users to scan documents, process images, recognize text, create documents such as PDFs, and manage information such as expiry dates and reminders.

2. Documents and Images

DueScan may access images that you capture using your device's camera or images that you choose to import into the application.

These images may contain personal or sensitive information depending on the documents you choose to scan.

Document images and generated files are processed for the purpose of providing the application's document scanning and management features.

3. Camera Access

DueScan may request access to your device's camera so that you can scan documents.

Camera access is used only when required for document scanning features. DueScan does not continuously access your camera in the background.

4. Text Recognition (OCR)

DueScan may use Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology to detect and extract text from scanned documents.

Extracted text may be used for features such as document organization, searching and detection of dates or expiry dates.

5. Document Processing

DueScan may process document images to provide features such as:

  • Document boundary detection
  • Automatic cropping
  • Perspective correction
  • Rotation
  • Image enhancement and filters
  • Text recognition
  • PDF generation

Processing is performed for the purpose of providing the features requested by the user.

6. Local Storage

DueScan may store scanned documents, generated files, extracted information, application preferences, expiry dates and reminders locally on your device.

Removing documents from DueScan or uninstalling the application may remove locally stored application data, subject to Android's storage and backup behavior.

7. Expiry Dates and Reminders

DueScan allows users to associate dates and reminders with documents.

The application may process detected or manually entered dates in order to provide these features.

8. Notifications

DueScan may request permission to send notifications so that it can remind you about upcoming dates or document expirations.

Notification permissions can be controlled through your Android device settings.

9. Sharing and Exporting Documents

DueScan may allow you to export or share documents using Android's sharing features.

When you choose to share a document with another application or service, the handling of that document by the receiving service is governed by that service's own privacy policy.

10. Screenshot Protection

DueScan may provide an optional privacy feature designed to prevent screenshots or screen recordings while sensitive documents are being displayed.

This feature can be controlled from DueScan's settings when available.

11. Purchases

DueScan may offer optional paid features through Google Play.

Payments are processed by Google Play. DueScan does not directly collect or store your payment card information.

12. Advertising
